I was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree at Laurentian University, I completed four years at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, and graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractic in June 2006. I spent a year in Galway, Ireland, working as a chiropractor and traveling. I then returned to my hometown in September 2007, and after working as an Associate Chiropractor for 4 years, opened up my current office, Vita Chiropractic and Wellness Centre in January of 2012.
With my patients, I focus on correcting spinal dysfunctions, promoting optimal function as well as providing advice on nutrition, supplementation, and stress reduction. As a wellness practitioner, I utilize a holistic mind-body-soul approach, and am committed to doing the same for myself. I train at a local Crossfit Gym and a martial arts club, I follow a Paleo diet, and stay up to date on the latest chiropractic and wellness research via reading literature and attending seminars. Presenting health talks and workshops, as well as writing articles for local newspapers and magazines, are ways in which I educate my community on the importance of maintaining optimal health. I am the team chiropractor for Sudbury Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai Academy, a local martial arts club.
I grew up figure skating for the Sudbury Skating Club. While a chiropractic intern in Toronto, I had the opportunity to be the chiropractor to Jeffrey Buttle, 2006 Olympic bronze medalist and 2008 World Champion in figure skating. I continue to be involved with the skating community through volunteer coaching and judging.
In 2008 and 2010, I won Sudbury's Favourite Chiropractor in the Sudbury Star Reader's Poll. I was awarded Female Young Professional of the Year from the Young Professional's Association of Sudbury in 2008. Furthermore, in 2010, I was awarded the Young Woman of Distinction award from the YWCA.
