Burkitt Naturopathic and Wellness Centre

I’m a Naturopathic Doctor with a general family practice in Oshawa, Ontario.

My personal philosophy? Food is medicine! I know it’s not easy to make changes when it comes to food, and that’s why I am here to help. I aim to support my patients in making the dietary changes necessary to support their individual biochemistry and specific health concerns. For many of my patients, a diet based upon the primal template, rich in nutritionally dense, whole foods, is a great foundation. Besides clinical nutrition, I also use botanical medicine, supplementation, acupuncture, and lifestyle counseling as tools in my practice to help my patients achieve wellness.

I have a general family practice and welcome patients of all ages with a variety of health concerns. However, I have a special interest in working with patients with concerns surrounding fertility, female hormone imbalance (including PCOS), and mental health concerns such as anxiety and depression.

I completed my undergraduate degree at York University. My own personal experiences within the conventional medical system allowed me observe limitations and gaps in patient care. My desire to address these gaps, combined with a lifelong interest in health and wellness and a passion for education, led me to the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine where I completed four years of post-graduate medical training.

In an effort to provide healthcare to underserviced populations, I volunteered with Natural Doctors International in Nicaragua in 2010, and the Queen West Community Health Centre in Toronto in 2011.

I am trained as a primary care provider, but will gladly work with your current healthcare team to provide adjunct care. I am passionate about providing you with the best possible health outcomes for a better quality of life.

I am a member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors.
