Dr. Randall H. James

I am a licensed physician that began my quest into health care due my own health care issues. I had a serious back injury in college that developed into rehabilitation medicine. My medical training of course was based in the traditional medical model so I received little formal nutritional and wellness education except what I learned on my own. It was not until I became ill myself did I truly begin my quest into more nutritional and wellness education. I am currently a spine physician at a major medical hospital but I now am expanding my education and lifestyle to include sound nutritional and lifestyle principles and share this with my patients when appropriate.

I am a board certified physician in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. I have a practice focus on Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Electrodiagnostic medicine, spine medicine, medical acupuncture, and pain medicine. I have special interests in preventive medicine, nutrition, wellness medicine, bariatric medicine, and ant-aging.

I am a board certified physician in practice since 1989 having practiced in Ohio, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and now West Virginia.I returned to the mid-west 2 years ago to help take care of my aging parents. I am currently a staff physician at the St Marys Medical Center of Huntington, WV in St Mary's Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation department. I have also training in Medical Acupuncture and Osteopathic Manual Therapy(OMT). I function now as a triage physician for St Marys Regional Spine Center.
I have found that incorporating wellness education including nutrition, smoking cessation, and home exercise is as important as any medication or surgery in the recovery of my patients.
