He continued his training in Tucson by completing his Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at The University of Arizona under the direction of Dr. Andrew Weil. This fellowship has only been completed by just over 1000 physicians worldwide, most through distance learning. However, a handful have been able to complete it under the direct supervision of the Faculty at the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine in Tucson, and Dr. Horzempa is one of these privileged few. During this time he received additional training in nutrition, herbal and botanical medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine, Exercise Physiology and Movement, Osteopathic Manual Medicine and Stress Reduction Techniques.

After graduating from Fellowship, Dr. Horzempa went on to practice primary care in the rural town of Amherstburg in Canada. This was a very pivotal moment in his career because it cemented his desire to start an Integrative Medicine Practice. After Dr. Horzempa completed his time in Canada he moved back to Tucson to start his Integrative Medicine clinic.

Dr. Horzempa's interest in nutrition and movement go back to his earlier childhood years. He discovered during this time that he could use these tools to enhance his athletic performance is sports and martial arts. It also helped him to have a physical outlet to escape to after many hours of studying. This interest only grew through medical school and residency. Today, Dr. Horzempa's clinical interests include: disease prevention, enhancing longevity, nutrition, movement, supplementation, herbal medicine, functional medicine, heart rate variability analysis, mind body medicine and hormonal optimization.

In his free time Dr. Horzempa enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter and dog. He enjoys living in Tucson due to the ability to spend time outdoors year round. He also has a passion for studying a wide variety of movement arts, from gymnastics to martial arts, and makes time for this practice daily.
